Location: Bakırköy, Istanbul
Located in Bakırköy, SPADA Hq was programmed, designed, and built to incorporate various functions related to coffee culture.
It was designed in a layout that separates the production area (housing more industrial functions such as storage, roasting, resting, packaging, and preparation for shipping), management office areas, an intermediate space for events such as cupping and workshops, and cafe areas serving customers based on their specific hygienic, thermal, and security requirements, while allowing cafe guests to view these areas and gain an experience regarding the production process.
The layout plan was intended to visually connect the cafe guests and office areas with the production, while specifically isolating these spaces from each other. Conceived as an intermediate space, the cupping room was positioned as a flexible area that can be closed to host private tasting events, opened to become part of the cafe area, or transformed into a larger event space that incorporates the cafe area.
