Client: Zenith Gemi İşletmeciliği A.Ş.
Design + Build 2018
Location: Buyaka/ İstanbul

Designed and built by Espas, this project encompasses the 19th-floor meeting, seminar, and social areas of Zenith Ship Management S.A., located in Buyaka C Block, complementing their existing operational offices on the 18th floor.
Since the operational workspaces are located on a separate floor, the additional requirements for this level necessitated an unconventional office design. The defining components of the program included meeting rooms for staff; the hosting of nearly 60 external personnel for training, seminars, and similar events; an accommodation room for use during crisis periods; and social areas where seafarer candidates can fill out forms and spend time.

The entrance to the space was expanded by pulling it back in a triangular form to accommodate the collective use of seminar participants and job applicants. This expansion brought the space from the core toward the building's perimeter, allowing the entrance hall to receive natural light. Considering that the floor would host a high number of people relative to its area, the entrance hall and kitchen were designed to function as a foyer for the seminar area. To ensure these social and crowded areas do not disturb the staff meeting zones, access to the meeting rooms was provided via two separate hallways.

The four different meeting rooms in the area were distinguished from one another based on their capacity and "meeting mood," offering staff various spatial alternatives for their gatherings.

The seminar hall was designed as a flexible space capable of responding to varying numbers of people and different event types; with its 21 foldable tables and 56 chairs, it can be arranged in conference, classroom, or U-table layouts. To prevent unused furniture from occupying the space, the hall was planned with its own dedicated storage. Due to the large size of the area, the ceiling height was maximized through an open ceiling system, while fabric was preferred on the walls to ensure acoustic comfort.

The accommodation room was conceived as a small hotel room, fitting its own bathroom within a very limited area.
