Client: Rusal
Design + Build 2015
Location: Spine Tower / İstanbul

The services include the design and implementation of the first communication office in Turkey for Rusal, a Russian aluminum raw material producer.
The program for the office consists of a reception-secretary area, a waiting area, an open-plan office for four people, two executive offices, and a meeting room. Located in Spine Tower, which features a circular floor plan, the office occupies a quarter segment of the floor. This circularity, a highly decisive factor in the layout, was challenged through various elements and orientations to strengthen the relationships between different spaces.
A large volume was created at the entrance, allowing the reception, waiting area, open office, and one executive office to benefit from this expansive space. The ventilation infrastructure was planned toward the building's core, ensuring that the ceiling remains high on the valuable perimeter side, thereby maximizing the panoramic Bosphorus and forest views for all spaces. Since one of the executives preferred a closer relationship with the open-plan office, their office was designed with glass partitions as an integral part of this large central volume. This approach made the panoramic view a focal point of the office entrance.
To minimize corridor areas and enhance spatial connectivity, a grid-based layout was adopted instead of a circular arrangement. This orientation is reinforced by a ceiling form that strengthens these directional lines. Within this modularly designed system, stretch ceiling lighting was integrated as a cohesive component. The reception desk was also custom-designed to contribute to this specific form and orientation.
he entire space was designed with a minimalist aesthetic that creates expansive volumes, ensuring maximum natural light and full utilization of the panoramic views.
